Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-13

Hi, douya here 🌱. This page explains, honestly and in plain English, what data ohosdev.com (“the site”, “we”) touches when you visit. Short version: we don’t run accounts, comments, or forms, so there’s not much to collect. The longer version is below.

Information We Collect

We do not collect:

  • Names, emails, or any account data (we don’t have accounts).
  • Form submissions, comments, or subscriptions (we don’t run any).
  • Payment information (nothing is sold here).

What does get collected, automatically, by infrastructure:

  • Edge access logs via Cloudflare (our CDN). These include IP address, User-Agent, referrer, requested URL, and timestamps. Cloudflare uses them for caching, DDoS protection, and abuse prevention.
  • Search Console signals for the site owner only. Google Search Console shows aggregate search queries that led to the site. This is not user-level tracking — we cannot tie it back to an individual visitor.

We may, in the future, add:

  • Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymization, for aggregate page-view stats.
  • Google AdSense for advertising. As of the last-updated date above, no ads are served on this site. If and when we enable AdSense, this section will be updated and the cookie notice below will apply.

How We Use It

  • To operate the site (serve pages, cache, recover from outages).
  • To detect and block abuse (DDoS, scrapers hammering the origin).
  • To understand which content is useful, in aggregate.
  • That’s it. We don’t profile individuals, sell data, or build mailing lists out of logs.

Cookies & Tracking

Today, ohosdev.com sets no first-party tracking cookies. The site is a static Astro/Starlight build; the only client-side state is a theme preference stored in localStorage (light/dark), which never leaves your browser.

If we enable Google Analytics or Google AdSense in the future, those services will set their own cookies. The standard AdSense disclosure below applies in that case:

Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Ads Settings.

You can also opt out of third-party vendor use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.

Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third parties. Each has its own privacy policy, which governs their handling of your data:

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over personal data we hold about you:

  • GDPR / UK GDPR (EU, EEA, UK) — right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability. Right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
  • CCPA / CPRA (California) — right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA.
  • Other jurisdictions — equivalent rights where applicable.

Because we don’t run accounts and most data we touch is short-lived edge log data we cannot tie back to you, in practice we usually have nothing on file about you. If you still want to make a request, contact us and we’ll do our best to help.

Children’s Privacy

This site is aimed at adult software developers. We do not knowingly collect any personal data from children under 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions where that’s the relevant threshold). If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Changes to this Policy

When this policy changes, we update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes (e.g., turning on ads, adding analytics) will also be noted on the homepage for a reasonable period.
